A video game controller (gamepad in English) is an input device used to interact with a video game either on a console, or on a computer. The command allows you to move and interact with the elements of the game to perform the various actions necessary to meet the objectives that can be seen through a screen or television.
The creation of the first command was accompanied by the development of the first video game console in the 60s, the first console that had a command was the NES. The development of an electronic entertainment system based on interactive images on a television created the need to have a device through which this interaction will be achieved. So Ralph Baer, ??creator of the first video game system, accompanied his creation, the Odyssey console, with a pair of joysticks (joystick) for the game between two participants.
Gamepad designed for the Nintendo 64.
The controls were originally born for consoles in the form of a lever, but when the videogames arrived to the personal computers they also became an indispensable device such as the keyboard itself or the mouse. A control is characterized by being a board that can carry buttons, triggers, levers (usually two) or crossarms that can be analog or digital designed, each element, for a specific function of the game.
Since the release of the Dual Shock in 1998, (second version of the PlayStation controller) commands were used in that way for that console; so far, the PlayStation 4 uses the DualShock 4.
There was also a revolution in video game control in 2012, thanks to the new Wii U controller (Nintendo), which incorporates a 6.2-inch touch screen, plus NFC technology and sensor bar, allowing you to simulate the appearance of a laptop .
